Wise Words from GOE: Contact Cuban
Published on 11/18/07 08:20PM by Leslie FishlockI called the Dallas Mavericks front office today to express my displeasure at Mark Cuban’s funding of Redacted. I started the conversation by saying, “I hope this isn’t the only phone call you’re going to receive like this, but I am a soldier and I never raped nor murdered anyone.” The woman on the other end of the line said, “Why would you blame Mark?” When I responded, “Because he funded the project,” I found myself talking to dead air. My thought is that we should all call, or write and express our displeasure. The address and phone are below. Remember, use no profanity, but be firm and let the front office know that this use of Mr. Cuban’s fortune is unacceptable. The men and women in the military are what’s best about our country and Mr. Cuban should know that Hollywood may applaud his efforts, but we will never forget. Manchu.

On this Thanksgiving I thank God for my country and the brave men and women that defend her...and I'm also sick and tired of the people who are forever tearing apart the fabric which has made us great for so long...this movie (redacted) is a tool of people that do not love our country! God Bless America!!!

Mark Cuban is a wealthy man, and has a great responsibility to this country. He has failed us, failed the country that gave him so much. It is a great shame.

Chris, First of all thanks for your service to our country. Thanks also for giving out the phone number/address for the Dallas Mavericks and Mark Cuban. I am from Texas and I am so upset with what Mr. Cuban has done to our military by funding this movie. I have already been blocked from his Mavs website and I promise you I didn't say anything profane or inappropriate. I just noted that I agreed with Basham's "Redacted" post and all the money that Cuban throws at our troops will never make up for what he has done by putting out this movie. Soldiers will be killed because of "Redacted" when the copies are passed around the Middle East - I know this in my heart and I am pretty sure by now Mark Cuban knows it, too! He is just too stubborn to back out at this point.
Cyber hugs to our troops -- have a wonderful Thanksgiving. My Texas family is thankful for our soldiers - each and every one of them - and I am ashamed that Mark Cuban currently resides in Texas!
